Â
For the benefit of our European alumni, parents, and friends, Penn works with Transnational Giving Europe (TGE), a network of philanthropic institutions that coordinates donations from some European countries.Â
Â
If you pay taxes in one of the TGE countries listed below, you may be able to make a gift to Penn and benefit from the tax advantages provided in that country: Â
Â
Â
Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) is a partnership of leading European philanthropic organizations that coordinates cross-border giving.
Â
If you're a taxpayer (either an individual or organization) in one of the TGE countries, you may benefit from the tax advantages provided by law in your country. To qualify for a potential tax advantage, you must make your gift to Penn through a TGE foundation partner, which will transfer the gift to The University of Pennsylvania (USA) Foundation, Penn's registered charity in the United Kingdom. The UK Foundation then grants the gift to Penn to your specified purpose.
Â
*Please note, gifts given via TGE are subject to each foundation partner's acceptance policies, as well as a five percent TGE operational fee on giving up to €100,000 and degressive fees for larger gifts.
Your first step is to notify Penn of your gift intention by clicking the contact button below and completing our online form. Â
To benefit from tax-advantaged opportunities made possible by the TGE network, you must:
Once your gift to the appropriate TGE foundation partner is accepted, the foundation will provide a receipt for your tax purposes.Â
Â
Once your gift is transferred to Penn, you will receive an acknowledgement of your gift from the University.Â
